Confirmed: Obama is Hitler

Did you know that the Obama campaign released a flier in Germany that was written in German? Do you know who else spoke German? Adolf Hitler’s butler. Also, Adolf Hitler.

I can’t think of any reason why Obama would release something in German in Germany unless he was officially endorsing nazism (which is also a flip-flop, because he previsouly opposed global aryan supremacy).

But that’s not all: Obama was recently photographed from the side… just like Hitler was at some point! John McCain has only ever been photographed from the front, just like Abraham Lincoln. In fact, McCain doesn’t even let people look at the side of his head, such is his hatred of Hitler.

America’s choice is clearer than ever.

Gotcha, Obama!

The new GOP talking point is that Obama is a hypocrite because he opposed funding the Osprey aircarft, but flew in an Osprey during his trip to Iraq!  Election over! Except, McCain supports staying in Iraq for 100 years, but when he went there, he left after a few days.  Also,  I guess McCain is against a bunch of taxes that he (presumably) still pays.

I wish they’d both have the courage of their convictions; Obama could fly around in a different plane, and McCain could stop paying taxes and go to Iraq for 100 years (oh, also, McCain both opposes and flies on Ospreys as well, so I guess he’d also have to take some other plane to get there).

O’Reilly Has a Great Sense of Perspective on Things

While discussing Al Gores’ appearance at the Netroots conference, Bill O’Reilly said that “these Daily Kos people” are “more hateful” than “the Nazis and the Klan.” But it seems like pursuing genocide in the name of racial purity is, in some ways, more hateful than writing blogs that make fun of republicans.

New GOP Spin: Maliki is a Terrorist!

Desperately searching for a response to Maliki’s endorsement of Obama’s withdrawal plan, the Corner is trying an all-out attack:

Maliki […] has long-standing ties to Iran and Syria —
and has expressed support for Hezbollah.

Without adressing the merits of these allegations, I don’t really think that’s the spin they’re looking for. For one thing, Bush has repeatedly appeared with Maliki and lavishly praised him. More to the point though if, as the Corner suggests, the leader of Iraq is an Iran-loving terrorist - then why did we fight the war in the first place?

I mean, spending billions of tax-dollars and thousands of American lives to install a pro-iranian terrorist regime hardly seems that good a deal and, indeed, is an even better argument for Obama’s position.

McCain Calls Opposite Day

Here’s a direct translation of Maliki’s comments, taken from the original audio:

The following is a direct translation from the Arabic of Mr.
Maliki’s comments by The Times: “Obama’s remarks that — if he takes
office — in 16 months he would withdraw the forces, we think that this
period could increase or decrease a little, but that it could be
suitable to end the presence of the forces in Iraq.”

He continued: “Who wants to exit in a quicker way has a better assessment of the situation in Iraq.”

Which the McCain camp interprets as an endorsement of McCain’s plan.  That  makes sense, except for the fact that Obama is the one who proposed “16 months [to] withdraw the forces,” Obama is the candidate who wants to “exit in a quicker way,” and Obama is the candidate whose name is “Obama.”

Another Surrenderer Speaks

U.S. presidential candidate Barack Obama talks about 16 months. That,
we think, would be the right timeframe for a withdrawal, with the
possibility of slight changes.

I have no idea who said that, and I’m not going to bother looking it up, but it’s obviously someone with no clue about the current Iraq situation.

Whoot Whoot- Straight Talk Express

All week, the McCain camp has said that offshore rigs “did not spill a drop” of oil during hurricanes Rita and Katrina. In fact, the rigs spilled more than seven hundred thousand gallons of oil during the hurricanes. So while it’s technically accurate that they didn’t spill “a drop,” I think it’s sort of misleading to phrase it that way.

Autistics Probably Not Faking It

Right-wing talk show host Michael Savage says that autism is a “fraud” and “racket” and that  “99 percent” of kids with autism are faking it. I’m not a professional psychologist or anything, but I doubt that’s so. It’s possible that in Savage’s youth, the autistic guys were always bullying the football players and dating the hottest girls. But in my experience, autistic kids weren’t actually all that popular, and there wouldn’t seem to be much profit in faking it.

Although, if he’s right, you have to give credit to the millions of fake-autistics who’ve sustained the act for their entire lives without any discernible motive whatsoever. Forget method-acting, that’s some real dedication to the role.

Obama, Failing to Dominate Every Demographic, Sucks

I remember reading the New York times article from the other day titled “Poll Finds Obama Isn’t Closing Divide on Race.” The poll in question shows Obama getting 83% support from blacks and that, yes, he’s failed to get that level of support from whites. Getting 83% of the popular vote would be, by several orders of magnitude, the most overwhelming landslide in all of American history. So perhaps they’re expecting a bit too much.

Also, isn’t it equally accurate to say that McCain Isn’t Closing the Divide on Race? Or, I mean, McCain gets most of his support from the elderly so why not ask why he hasn’t “Closed the Divide on Age” (although, again, Obama hasn’t “closed the divide” on age either in that sense).

I guess what I’m saying is that I don’t get the point of this article and also that, you know, there are actually two people running for president here.

Offshore Drilling is National Comfort Food

Both Bush and McCain have said that while offshore drilling won’t accomplish anything, it’s good “for psychological reasons.” Now, I’m all for doing things for psychological reasons. Sometimes it even works, it’s called “the placebo effect.” But here’s the thing- placebos don’t work if you tell people it’s a placebo. So if they’re going to fuck up our oceans to make people feel better for a few months, they should at least lie and say there’s some point to it.
